PELLETIER YOUTH IN TRANSITION

Pelletier Youth in Transition provides housing, employment support, and life skills training to young people aging out of foster care in Etobicoke and the GTA. The organization helps youth navigate the transition to independent living by offering stable temporary housing, job coaching, educational workshops, and mentorship from experienced staff. Many participants have experienced instability in the child welfare system and lack family support networks, making the transition to adulthood particularly challenging. Pelletier addresses these gaps by creating a supportive environment where young people can develop practical skills, secure employment, and build connections to community resources. The program recognizes that youth need more than just a place to stay, so it combines accommodation with personalized guidance on finances, health care access, resume writing, and conflict resolution. By helping young people establish themselves during this critical period, the organization works to break cycles of homelessness and unemployment among vulnerable teens.
