SCARBOROUGH WOMEN'S CENTRE
Scarborough Women's Centre provides counselling, skills training, and support services for women and transgender individuals facing poverty, violence, and social isolation. Operating in Scarborough and serving the broader Toronto area, the organization offers crisis support, career development programs, and group workshops addressing mental health, financial literacy, and safety planning. Staff and volunteers work with clients experiencing homelessness, family conflict, immigration challenges, and barriers to employment. The centre operates a drop-in space where visitors can access resources, connect with peers, and receive referrals to additional community services. Programming is informed by feminist principles and recognizes the intersecting challenges many women face, including systemic discrimination and economic hardship.
