SECOND PARENTS TRANSITIONAL HOME

Second Parents Transitional Home provides safe housing and support services for vulnerable youth aging out of the child welfare system in Toronto. The organization offers young people ages 16-24 a place to live while they develop life skills, pursue education or employment, and build stable futures. Residents receive mentorship from trained staff who help with budgeting, job search, health care navigation, and emotional support. The program typically lasts 12-24 months and includes counseling, educational workshops, and connections to additional community resources. Second Parents recognizes that youth leaving foster care face significant barriers to independence and works to bridge that gap by providing structure, guidance, and a supportive environment during this critical transition period.
