CHILDREN'S GARDEN FOUNDATION

Children's Garden Foundation operates outdoor learning spaces that teach Toronto-area students about gardening, ecology, and nutrition through hands-on experience. The foundation builds and maintains gardens at schools and community centers, providing curriculum-linked programming that connects children to food production and environmental stewardship. Students grow vegetables and flowers, learn about composting and soil health, and develop practical skills while gaining exposure to nature. The program serves elementary and middle school students, with particular focus on schools in neighborhoods with limited access to green space. By creating these gardens, the foundation helps young people understand where food comes from and builds confidence through tangible growing projects that produce real harvests throughout the seasons.
