THE LEARNING DISABILITIES ASSOCIATION - DURHAM REGION
The Learning Disabilities Association - Durham Region provides assessment, advocacy, and educational support to children and adults with learning disabilities across Ajax and the broader Durham area. The organization conducts psycho-educational assessments to identify learning differences, connects families with specialized resources, and works with schools to develop appropriate accommodations and strategies. Staff and volunteers offer tutoring, skill-building programs, and peer support groups while helping individuals understand their learning profile and build confidence. The association also trains educators and parents on evidence-based approaches to support learners with dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, and related challenges. By combining direct services with community education and school partnerships, the organization helps students with learning disabilities succeed academically and socially.
