Prospective Medical Professionals - PuMP

Prospective Medical Professionals (PuMP) works to increase access to medical education for underrepresented students in the Greater Toronto Area. The organization provides mentorship, academic support, and career guidance to high school and undergraduate students from low-income backgrounds who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine and healthcare. PuMP connects students with practicing physicians and medical school graduates who offer one-on-one advising on application strategies, exam preparation, and navigating the medical school process. The organization also hosts workshops on healthcare careers, hosts study groups, and helps participants develop the academic skills and confidence needed to succeed in competitive medical programs. Based in Richmond Hill, PuMP removes barriers to medical education by offering free programming to students who might otherwise lack the networks and resources to pursue their goals in healthcare.
